Sometimes employment just isn’t possible. For a multitude of reasons. It could be your health. But it could also be the economic reality of where you live. Or just what’s available where you live. Most people with MS eventually get to the point where working simply isn’t an option anymore. Fortunately, there are lots of places that need volunteers and those opportunities may lead you in a new path that you love. And they may lead to new employment opportunities.
So let’s take a look at some of the basic places and organizations and events that always need volunteers.
Your local hospital will always be looking for volunteers.
Small non-profit organizations in your area. A lot of the time, these organizations are overlooked. But they are often the backbone of providing support to MS patients. Through lending of mobility devices, to rides to appointments. They do a lot of good work.
Local chapters of international organizations like the Civitan or Lions club will always be looking for volunteers. And depending on your ability to commit, these organizations can create tremendous amounts of local change.
